a land-locked ocean

Feeling restored and eager for a hike, Melissa and I climbed to the top of the very steep hill at the entrance of Bandipur to Thani Mai Temple. I could attempt to describe the hike, but words fall so short of the beauty and magnificence that surrounded our tiny beings. I will tell you that the wind that blows in the valley sounds exactly like the ocean.

Thank you so much for these incredible pictures and your words about what you saw and felt. Even though we all know they exist, it's still astounding to see those mountains towering above the clouds. It's strange how their power and magnificence is all of a piece with the simplicity of the village scenes, but they are. A different culture might have gone in a different spiritual direction, but not this one.

Thank you so much, Beth!
I'm happy you enjoyed the post.

Nepal is truly magical, unlike anywhere I have ever been. Nepal has a home in my heart or rather, my heart is home in Nepal. Either way, I feel drawn to these landscapes, its people, and must return.
